We optimize, harmonize, and digitalize your entire value chain
The automotive industry is undergoing the most significant change in its more than one-hundred-year history. New market players, new technologies, and new business models are putting established OEMs and suppliers under greater competitive pressure than ever before. This market situation demands a fundamental rethink, both at the organizational and process levels. Key drivers are highly efficient, standardized, and digitalized business processes along the entire value chain.
Our Global Business Transformation Toolkit (GBTT) consists of six cornerstones that span the entire value chain and the complete project lifecycle. Services extend from the initial strategy phase through the process design, implementation and rollout phases to project follow-up.
Before starting a project, we use our Digital Architecture Framework to answer two essential key issues together with our customers. First, we provide you with targeted support in answering how the digital target architecture underlying your project and in subsequent years should be shaped. Our comprehensive catalog of criteria and their dashboard evaluations provide optimal decision support regarding the best digitalization solution in the specific use case.
In the second part of the Digital Architecture Framework, we also offer structured and comprehensive methodological support concerning selecting the right business process transformation method such as "Greenfield," "Brownfield," or "Hybrid."
The second central component of the GBTT is the Business Transformation Framework (BTF). The BTF’s project methodology is based on the "reversal of the burden of proof." That means that while on the way to a globally harmonized and standardized value chain, plant and business unit representatives in the project must present good reasons why the industry's leading practices should be deviated from in specific application cases. More than 2,000 leading-practice customer processes along the entire value chain have been collected in the BTF and form the basis of every process design workshop in the project. And many of these practices have been created in the context of SAP S/4HANA implementation projects. The workshops are led in an agile manner by our consultants using the BTF methodology and follow the central guiding principle of designing target processes that are as uniform as possible globally.
The vast majority of our customers have their sights set on global harmonization and standardization and see them as overriding program objectives. These are two critical factors when it comes to establishing future digital processes. We use our Process Control Tower to determine at the outset and during the project whether global harmonization, standardization, digitalization, and complexity reduction in the value chain have reached the desired level of maturity. The maturity levels of the four elements are available in real-time via a graphical dashboard that can be viewed at any time.
Another guarantor of success and used in a large number of our projects is the Data Quality Navigator. This proprietary tool, developed over many years, performs rule-based optimization of all master data across business units. Our integrated "Data Quality Bot" ensures that master data weaknesses and their dependencies are not only identified but also automatically eliminated. A comprehensive out-of-the-box set of rules can be applied immediately and extended by an unlimited number of additional rules according to customer requirements.
Global governance spanning all regional and local levels is of great importance, not least when your globally harmonized and standardized business process template is rolled out globally. It is essential to prevent a "dilution" of this jointly created business process template and to efficiently coordinate and involve all project participants in a timely manner during the individual rollout waves. We accompany your project with a customized process and program governance approach tailored to your project requirements.
Another essential action block is the "industrialization" of rollouts, which our own structured methodology fully supports. Our focus here is on accelerating the scaling of rollouts across many sites, business units, and regions. A central premise of our methodology is to eliminate redundant and inefficient activities through the greatest possible parallelization of rollouts. A large number of tools developed in-house help you organize and execute your rollouts in the best possible way and make the transitions from rollout wave to rollout wave particularly efficient and smooth.
A further component of our industrialized rollout methodology is "automated testing and training," including gamification tailored to you for the optimal inclusion of all project stakeholders from the start of the project. We support you in the right approach to procedural testing, the use of a risk-based testing mechanism, and the efficient application of digital training methods - both during template development and implementation and in the individual rollout waves.
Due to their complexity, business process transformation projects benefit massively from a holistic approach supported by our Global Business Transformation Toolkit. We support you holistically, starting with setting up a transparent program and project organization, ensuring leading practices in your industry, to achieving the greatest possible rollout efficiency. The consistent, methodical approach and process know-how of our consultants are crucial for replacing established, long-established and inefficient processes and identifying potential savings.
A holistic transformation of the value chain towards agile, efficient and autonomously operating business processes is one of the key levers for maintaining and expanding our customers' market position.
